What is the running cost for an equine solarium?
Calculating the cost of running a BaskZone® equine heater per hour is easy. If you know what you’re paying per kWh for electricity, multiply this amount by the kW-size of your BaskZone heater. (For example, if you’re paying £0.30 per kWh and your heater size is 1.5kW, then £0.30 x 1.5 = £0.45). This means it costs you £0.45 per hour to run the heater, on 100% full power.
Are BaskZone® horse solariums safe?
Absolutely! All of our horse solariums offer gentle light output that soothes horses, and models such as the Ascot Horse Solarium are water-safe even when on, making them suitable for washdown bays.
How do BaskZone® heaters differ from canopy-style solariums?
Canopy-style horse solariums only heat the top-half of a horse’s body, which is inefficient and costly due to the extended time needed. BaskZone® heaters create a warming pool of heat, instead, which fully envelops a horse’s body and can fully dry a horse in as little as 10–15 minutes.
